ENCODING AND DECODING METHOD AND DEVICE FOR HIGH FREQUENCY BAND SIGNAL

<p>An encoding and decoding method and device for high frequency band signals are provided. During encoding, the flatness information expressing whether the high frequency band signal is flat or not is calculated at the encoding end; and during decoding, the decoding end first directs the smoothing process for the high frequency gain using the flatness information and the time-domain or frequency-domain envelope information of the low and high frequency band signals, then reconstructs the high frequency band signal using the smoothed high frequency gain. This process makes the smoothed high gain more coincident with the gain of the original high frequency band signal, and furthermore brings the reconstructed high frequency band signal closer to the original high frequency band signal.</p>
