PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus capable of automatically performing a panning by reducing the blur of a subject of interest, and to provide a program therefor. SOLUTION: It is determined whether or not the block group of a motion vector different from the motion vector of a circumferential region 32 with a field angle shown in Fig.(B) exists in a center region 31 shown in Fig.(A) during the swing of a digital camera. When the block group of the different motion vector exists in the center region 31, it is determined that the panning is about to be performed, thereby the block group being specified as a subject of interest region. When the scalar amount of the largest motion vector among the motion vectors of the respective blocks in the specified subject of interest region is smaller than a threshold, the panning and the absence of the blurs of the subject are determined, thereby automatic photographing being performed.
