PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform dust removal processing even for a moving image photographed by using electronic zooming during moving video recording. SOLUTION: This imaging apparatus includes: an imaging part provided with an imaging element for photoelectrically converting an object image to generate an image signal on the basis of an output signal from the imaging element; an electronic zoom processing part for performing electronic zoom processing for segmenting a portion of the image signal and magnifying the portion; a foreign matter detecting part for detecting foreign matter information being information including the information of at least the position and size of the foreign matter from an image for foreign matter detection including the image of a foreign matter adhering to the surface of an optical element arranged in front of the imaging element; a foreign matter information recording part for recording the foreign matter information in an image file; and a zoom magnification recording part for recording the zoom magnification of an electronic zoom in the electronic zoom processing part.
