PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer with a cutter which can prevent a paper from jamming while making an improvement for cutting accuracy with a movable blade and a fixed blade by making recording paper uncurled (decurl). SOLUTION: The cutter is equipped with the fixed blade 11 and the movable blade 31 which are faced across the surface of the recording paper P. The movable blade 31 slides toward the fixed blade 11, and is formed so that the recording paper P can be put between the fixed blade 11 and the movable blade and can be cut, and be equipped with a holding mechanism 50 for holding the recording paper P at cutting the recording paper P. The holding mechanism 50 is equipped with a fixed blade holder 12 fixed to the fixed blade 11 and a press 51 connected to the movable blade 31, and be formed so as to hold the recording paper P between the front face of the fixed blade holder 12 and the front face of the press 51. In the front face of the press 51, a lug 58 projecting in the normal direction of the paper surface of the recording paper P is formed.
