<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To evaluate gradation characteristics of a color conversion table in consideration of an image. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A color processing apparatus includes: an input means for inputting image data representing an image; an image characteristic calculation means for using the image data to calculate image characteristics in a predetermined area of the image; an acquisition means for acquiring a color conversion table for color conversion from an input color signal to an output color signal; a gradation characteristic calculation means for using the color conversion table to acquire an output color signal corresponding to an input color signal of the area of the image data inputted by the input means and calculating gradation characteristics in a color space of the output color signal; and an evaluation means for evaluating gradation characteristics of the color conversion table corresponding to the area on the basis of image characteristics calculated by the image characteristic calculation means and gradation characteristics calculated by the gradation characteristic calculation means.
