<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle state display capable of improving the visibility of a display so as to enable the recognition of the display without looking at a display means, when an operating means is operated and the operation result is displayed in the display means. Ž<P>SOLUTION: When various operation switches such as a lever combination switch and a cruise control switch are operated, of a combination meter 5 and a column display 14, first, a display element 17 (actually, a mark 19) corresponding to operation contents of the switch operation is displayed on the column display 14 with the maximum amount of light. With the passage of time, the light amount of the mark 19 on the column display 14 is gradually weaken to fade out, and meanwhile, on the combination meter 5, an actuating light 7 corresponding to the mark 19 is turn on so as to fade in the display by gradually increasing the amount of light.
