The method involves producing a form-fitting connection between a bearing carrier (2) and a bearing outer ring. The connection is produced by deforming a section (8) of the carrier adjacent to a groove-like recess of the ring using a forming tool such that deformed section radially and inwardly enters into the recess and forms an undercut when viewing in an axial direction of a bearing. The forming tool is pressed on a material of the carrier to be deformed, where the tool has a non-planar contour at a contact surface to the carrier that is made of flat sheet metal. An independent claim is also included for a bearing arrangement comprising a bearing carrier.
