Curved laminated safety glass is manufactured by bending a pair of superposed glass sheets on a bending mould and forming aligned depressions in the edges of both sheets, on the corners of said sheets ; then separating the sheets and removing them from the mould and assembling the sheets with a plastic interlayer, e.g. a vinyl resin, while matching the marks to orient the glass sheets into the same relative position as they occupied on the bending mould. The depressions, which may be arcuate, may be formed by grinding. Curved laminated safety glass may be used in wrap-round windscreens of automobiles, e.g. Fig. 5. In such a case the aligned depressions, 21, are preferably made on the corners, 20, formed by the intersection of two generally perpendicularly extending adjacent edges of the glass. |
