Described herein is a method for processing SAR images generated by successive acquisitions, wherein the interferometric phase (¦) includes at least one first contribution that represents the information of terrain height, and at least one second contribution that represents the variation of height with respect to the time that elapses between two successive interferometric acquisitions, as well as other contributions that represent the artefacts due to atmospheric inhomogeneities, to the limited precision with which the orbital parameters of the successive acquisitions are known, and to the phase variation depending upon processing errors. The method envisages linearization of the models used to estimate each of the contributions mentioned above.
