A preparation for supplementing animal feed to accelerate growth and improve feed efficiency by inoculating with an Aspergillus fungus a first solution which contains sugar, inorganic nutrients and a source of available nitrogen, the carbon to nitrogen ratio being 25-500 and the initial sugar concentration being 3-25%, stimulating maximum growth of the fungus mycelium, then supplying the developed mycelium with a second solution containing inorganic nutrients and 20% of sugar and conducting fermentation of the second solution in the absence of available nitrogen, and, on completion of the second fermentation removing the solution from the mycelium. |
