Verfahren zur Herstellung mehrkerniger Polyphenole

Polynuclear polyphenols are produced by heating a dihydroxydiphenylalkene in presence of an acidic or alkaline catalyst and distilling off the monophenol also formed. The products appear to contain trinuclear triphenols and tetranuclear tetraphenols which are probably formed by reaction of liberated p-vinylphenol with phenols present in the reaction mixture. Examples are given.
