997,829. Dispensing liquids by gaseous pressure. R. H. ABPLANALP. Jan. 10, 1963 [Jan. 25, 1962], No. 1268/63. Heading F1R. [Also in Division B1 A pressurized container for dispensing two immiscible liquids simultaneously as a mixture of predetermined proportions, has a float 9 on the dip tube inlet of a specific gravity such that it floats in the plane of demarcation between the liquid layers 6, 7, a gas layer 8 acting to discharge the liquids via passages 13, 14 and a mixing chamber 10 in float 9, on operation of valve button 5. The proportion of each liquid in the mixture discharged is determined by the flow capacities of passages 13, 14. The float may be of moulded plastic, either of suitable specific gravity or provided with sealed buoyancy chambers. The float may be spherical, as shown, or cylindrical with a loose fit in the container. The liquid layers may be a water-soluble insecticide composition and a liquefied propellant, or an aqueous starch solution and a liquefied propellant containing a perfume or a fungicide. Both liquid layers may be non- propellants, in which case the gaseous layer may be an inert gas, e.g. nitrogen. Other propellant examples are:-monofluorotrichloro methane, difluorodichloro methane, tetrafluorodichloro ethane, butane, isobutane and propane.
|
