Device for treating mitral annulus dilatation. The device comprises a balloon catheter (214) having proximal and distal ends; a lumen (213) extending therethrough; and a balloon (215); the balloon catheter (214) having contracted and deployed states, wherein the balloon (215) comprises a predetermined shape in the deployed state; and a stent (212) having contracted and deployed states, wherein the stent (212) is plastically deformable by the balloon catheter (214) and substantially conforms to the predetermined shape of the balloon (215) in the deployed state of the balloon catheter (214), wherein the stent (212) is configured to apply a compressive load on the mitral valve annulus in the deployed state.
