A telecommunications patching system comprising a carrier 22 having a generally vertically disposed carrier panel 23 wherein the carrier panel includes a cut-out area 28. The system also comprises a plurality of patching modules 40, each having a main panel 42 and a plurality of telecommunications connectors (52, 53, Fig.3) mounted thereon. The patching modules 40 are inserted into the cut-out area 28 so that the main panels 42 thereof are substantially parallel to each other, and so that the main panels define an oblique angle relative to the vertically disposed carrier panel 23. In another aspect of the invention, the modules 40 are inserted so that adjacent patching modules are sequentially offset from each other (see Fig.3). In a further aspect, the modules 40 are inserted so that the main panels 42 are maintained substantially parallel to each other by serrations 31, 33 in upper and lower edges of the cut-out area 28 of the carrier panel 23.
