The device has a hollow adapter plate arranged in a rigid profile frame (24) of a window front, where the adapter plate exhibits an external air opening and an exhaust air opening. An external wall device (26) is detachable mounted in the adapter plate such that the external wall device communicates with the external air opening and the exhaust air opening. The external air opening and the exhaust air opening are closable by flaps. The flaps exhibit a drive that is driven by an electric motor.
