The device has a pair of tongs (5) with two heatable arms (7, 7') connected together by a joint. Multi-part gripping tips are thermally insulated against a heating part of the arms and fixed at an end of the arms, where the end is turned away from the joint. The gripping tips are rotatable with respect to the joint in a closed state of the tongs. The gripping tips include two gripping tip halves (27, 27'). A rotational axis of the gripping tips is aligned collinear to a symmetrical axis of the arms that are fixed together by a fixing device in the closed state of the tongs.
