[Also in Division B3] A ball joint comprises a ball portion 11, and a shell portion 10, the ball being positioned within a recess 24, while being held between dics 31 and 32, and being retained in position by forcing a circular ridge 23 around the recess against the dies to swage the ridge around the ball. A seal, of for instance neoprene rubber, may be added around the shank of the ball portion, and the shank may be provided with a circumferential ridge. A pressure pad of nylon or rubber may be positioned between the inner end of the cavity and the ball. |
