#CMT# #/CMT# The plastic material has an orientation-induced crystallinity. #CMT# : #/CMT# A container made from plastic by stretching and blowing an injection moulding preform has a high crystallinity in order to achieve a higher thermal stability. An orientation-induced crystallinity is formed in the plastic material. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) Preform for forming the container; and (2) Method for producing the above container made from a copolymer of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) with another polyester having a higher heat resistance by heating the preform to a temperature greater than the glass transition temperature (Tg) of the higher heat resistance polyester fraction and then blow moulding as soon as this particular temperature is reached. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# The containers are used for tunnel pasteurization processes, or as oval containers or bottles for sauces or ketchup which are filled using a so-called hot filling process (claimed). #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The dimensional stability of the container is improved at high temperatures used e.g. during pasteurization of beverages or hot-filling. #CMT#POLYMERS : #/CMT# Preferred Container : The container comprises a copolymer of PET with another polyester having a higher heat resistance, preferably polyethylene naphthalate, polytrimethylene naphthalate or the plastic material PETN-5 type 400105. |
