PURPOSE: A developing unit of an image forming apparatus is provided to secure the uniform printing quality by implementing sequential supply and consumption of developer through a barrier. CONSTITUTION: A supply unit(42Y) supplies a developer to a developing device(43Y) through friction charge power, and a developer container(110) accepts the developer. First and second transfer units are arranged in the vertical direction to gravity. The developer is transferred to the first transfer unit by the first transfer unit, and is moved to the supply unit through the second transfer unit.
