PURPOSE: A cosmetic composition containing pure vitamin C of high concentration is provided to maintain vitamin C in aqueous system without skin irritation. CONSTITUTION: A cosmetic composition contains stabilized L-Ascorbic acid(vitamin C) in a formulation containing 80% or more water. The composition contains 20-25 weight% of L-Ascorbic acid. The composition contains 0.01-30 weight% of gelling agent based on total weight. The gelling agent is agar, alginate, Arabic, carrageenan, furcellaran, gelatin, ghatti, guar, karaya, larch, locust bean, pectin, and starch.
