The present invention refers to means and devices used in toilets, mainly refers to means used for automatically lifting and lowering the cover of a toilet and more particularly to a hydraulic drive device for lifting and lowering the cover and seat in a toilet, which is characterised in that it comprises left and right adjacent hollow chambers, where right and left rotating axis are housed respectively; both axis comprises in a fixed manner a counterweight which may rotate along with the axis located within the chambers; each chamber also houses a right and left elastic diaphragm, which are adjacent and interacting with the counterweights; said diaphragms comprise at least a connection pivot where a duct is connected for supplying and/or exciting a working fluid in order to actuate-push the counterweights when are inflated with working fluid supplied by an automatic system or a system of contact actuating elements, provoking the said axis connected to a toilet cover or seat to spin, respectively, and which comprise a right and left connection case at the rear portion thereof with an aperture through which a left and right fixing pin are inserted and fixed to the corresponding counterweights at the end portions of the rotating axis.
