PURPOSE: An air-vent illumination apparatus and a method for controlling the same are provided to identify the temperature and the air volume of an air-conditioning apparatus based on the color and the brightness of a red/green/blue(RGB) LED. CONSTITUTION: An air-vent supplies cool air and warm air which are generated from an air-conditioning apparatus to the inside of a vehicle. A control panel(120) controls the temperature and the air volume of the air-conditioning apparatus. A temperature measurement unit(130) measures the inside and the outside of the vehicle and compares the measured temperature with a set temperature. An RGB LED(140) is located in the air-vent. The RGB LED radiates different colors of light by the comparison result of the temperature measurement unit.
