PURPOSE: An image forming apparatus and a velocity control method of a rotating body thereof are provided to enable a rotator to rotate at a constant speed by reducing a speed variation of a rotator. CONSTITUTION: A visible image of a toner is formed on a surface of an image carrier(110), and a driving motor(120) drives the image carrier according to the input signal. An AC(Alternating Current) speed component of the image carrier is changed periodically. In order to reduce the AC speed component of the image carrier, a controller(130) controls the driving motor. Through the control operation, a motor output speed having the same cycle as the AC speed component is outputted.
