<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a frame-shaped structural component. <P>SOLUTION: The invention relates to the method for manufacturing the frame-shaped structural component (2) having an opening (7), especially a backrest structure or seat frame structure for a motor vehicle, by using cast light metal alloy. In the method, (a) a metal is supplied into at least two heated melt supply sections 11 and 11 of which melt outlets 12 and 12 communicate directly with the runners of a mold which are used to stow the melt for the structural component, and (b) the molten metal is supplied from the melt supply sections into the runners of the mold where melt streams flow in the counter directions inside the runners. By this method, the structural component which requires only very slight rework at most after casting can be manufactured and an increase in a mechanical characteristic value can be achieved within the defined region of the frame. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
