PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an active type pixel sensor circuit and a method of operating the same. SOLUTION: The active type pixel sensor circuit includes a reset transistor, a silicon rich oxide (SRO) photosensor and a readout transistor. The reset transistor has a gate, a source and a drain, the SRO photosensor has an anode and a cathode electrically coupled to the source of the reset transistor, and the readout transistor has a source, a drain and a gate and the gate is electrically coupled to the cathode of the SRO photosensor.
