<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a lock ring which can achieve a lower production cost than that in the prior art technique and to provide a cold forging mold. <P>SOLUTION: This cold forging mold 50 includes a molding hole 50K into which an original ring 86 is forced. The molding hole 50K includes first to third molding tapered faces 70, 71, 72 that form first to third original level differences 88D, 88E, 89D in the original ring 86 in first to third engaging level differences 32D, 32E, 33D in a lock ring 31.
