<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wireless holding type pointing device unit which is excellent in operability. <P>SOLUTION: The pointing device unit has a shape that is easy to hold in a palm, and is fixed to a finger proximal part with fixtures 14 with a length adjusting function such as a belt. Thus, a user performs a pointing operation while holding the pointing device unit in a palm. The user can also shift to a keyboard operation without separating a hand from the pointing device unit. The pointing device unit includes: a multidirectional switch function for generating signals of X and Y two-dimensional coordinate components for moving a pointer; a stick 12 also having a function of a push button corresponding to a left click of a mouse and a push button 13 corresponding to a right click of the mouse; and a transmitter for wirelessly transmitting the signals to a computer body, etc., and a power supply unit.
