PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a base isolation structure and a method for manufacturing the same appropriate for a relatively compact, low-load and light-weight object. SOLUTION: In the base isolation structure, a hollow part is formed in a lamination direction of a laminated elastic body in which rigid plates such as metal plates and elastic layers of a polyurethane resin composite and the like are alternately laminated between upper and lower front plates. The elastic layer contains hard particles such as glass, ceramic, metal and resin. The base isolation structure is manufactured by laminating the rigid plates and the hard particle alternately on the laminated elastic body and preparing the laminated elastic body in which the hollow part is formed in the lamination direction for which an elastic layer forming raw material is filled to the hard particles intervening between the rigid plates and attaching the upper and lower front plates to the laminated elastic body.
