PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a storage type display device having an extremely small average value in terms of power required during a rewriting period and during a non-power-supply period. SOLUTION: The storage type display device 6 uses a secondary battery 1 of small power supply capacity, and a capacitor 2 of a large capacity value is connected in parallel to the battery 1, and the large power required upon rewriting is mainly supplied from the capacitor 2 of a large capacity value. By using a solar battery of small power supply capacity or an electromagnetic-wave power convertor as a power source for charging the capacitor, the natural energy is utilized.
