<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a panel tilting apparatus which tilts a panel with small amount of horizontal movement of the panel, thereby almost dispensing with horizontal shift movement, requires little load (moment of inertia) for acceleration and deceleration in horizontal movement (feeding) of the panel and can tilt the panel with smaller torque than before for the panel of the same weight. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The panel tilting apparatus 10 is provided in which the panel 1 is hung down below a slender crossbar 2 and the panel is tilted on a plane which is orthogonally crossed with the axial line of the crossbar. The panel tilting apparatus 10 includes: a slider 12 which is situated above the panel and to which the crossbar 2 having panel clamping implements 3 for clamping the panel is fixed; a base member 14 which is fixed to a moving member moved vertically and/or horizontally to the conveying direction and which guides the slider tiltably around the center 11 of tilt, the center being situated in a part lower than the top of the panel on the above plane; and a tilting/driving device 16 which is fixed to the base member and which tilts the slider around the center of tilt.
