<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a retardation film made of a single-layer film, whose wavelength dispersion characteristics of birefringence exhibit inverse dispersion characteristics, and which is fully small in the number of pieces of fish-eyes and exhibits full high quality. <P>SOLUTION: The retardation film is produced by stretching a film comprising a norbornene ring-opening polymer, wherein the norbornene ring-opening polymer has structure units represented by general formula (1); in the structure units, the ratio of the structure units, wherein the wavy line c represents an exo-type configuration, lies within a range of 5-35 mol%; and the number of fish eyes existing in the retardation film is ≤0.3 pieces per 100 cm<SP>2</SP>of the retardation film. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
