<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical material having a high transmittance, a high refractive index, a low Abbe number, a high secondary dispersion property, and a low water absorption rate. <P>SOLUTION: The optical material includes a resin composition containing: a sulfur-containing compound represented by the following general formula (1): an other sulfur-containing compound represented by the following general formula (2): and an energy polymerization initiator. The optical material contains 10 to 60 wt.% of the other sulfur-containing compound.
