NONVOLATILE BACTERIA CELLULOSE GEL, AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonvolatile bacteria cellulose gel withstanding the long-term drying in air and being imparted with various functionalities. SOLUTION: The nonvolatile bacteria cellulose is prepared by the following process. A bacteria cellulose gel is heated in an aqueous solution of a water-soluble polymeric compound to evaporate the water in the bacteria cellulose gel together with the water in the aqueous solution to substitute the water in the bacteria cellulose gel for the polymeric compound such as polyethylene glycol. The gel thus prepared is applicable to sectors including medical care activities, pharmaceuticals and cosmetics. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
