PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus suppressing variation in image quality occurring when switching a readout mode of an imaging sensor. SOLUTION: A video camera 100 performs image processing so as to suppress variation in frequency characteristics for image data obtained by applying predetermined image processing to an image signal read out under a first readout mode and image data obtained by applying another image processing to an image signal read out under a second readout mode when switching the first readout mode for reading out signals of pixels in an overall region 201 of an imaging plane of an imaging sensor 113 and the second readout mode for reading out signals of pixels in a central portion 202 of the imaging plane.
