PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a grinding quality evaluation method easily applied to grinding operation. SOLUTION: (a) A dress depth when a grinding wheel is dressed by moving a dresser within a working plane of the grinding wheel with the dresser contacting the working plane of the rotating grinding wheel, or a depth of cut s when a grinding object is ground by a dressed grinding wheel, and a maximum depth value t of a groove formed in the grinding wheel by dressing are determined.
