PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the following problem associated with Schenkel DC high voltage power supplies that in order to increase a stray capacitance 9 that functions as a smoothing capacitor produced between a high-voltage terminal 5 and the inner wall of a power supply tank 1 to nestle ripples in output voltage into a range of specified values, it is required to increase the size of the high-voltage terminal 5 and this increases the size of the entire power supply. SOLUTION: A movable electrode 10 connected to ground potential is provided between the high-voltage terminal 5 and the inner wall of the power supply tank 1. The stray capacitance 9 that functions as a smoothing capacitor is increased by bringing the movable electrode close to the high-voltage terminal to the insulation distance corresponding to output voltage.
