PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a main rope support capable of reducing weight and working manhour. SOLUTION: This main rope support includes two sets of clamp members 20 which are arranged in a parted manner on the right and left sides of a support socket 6 externally fitted to a support body 2. Each of the clamp members 20 is provided with a pair of U-shaped frames 25 which are equipped with lower and upper jaw portions 36 and 37 connected together by a web portion 35 while a nut member 26 for screwing one clamp bolt 27 is fixed to a front end of the upper jaw portion 37. First and second connecting members 28 and 29 are fixed to the vicinity of a corner portion of the web portion 35 and the upper and lower jaw portions 37 and 36 in such a manner as to also serve as a reinforcing material for the corner portion, and a third connecting member 30 is vertically arranged at the front end of the lower jaw portion 36 and ahead of the nut member 26 in such a manner that its upper edge is flush with that of the lower jaw portion 36.
