<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a synergistic antimicrobial composition which solves a problem wherein commercially available antimicrobial compounds have weak activities against certain kinds of microorganisms, and therefore do not effectively control the microorganisms even in high service concentrations. Ž<P>SOLUTION: There are provided a biocide combination useful for preserving wood and having a larger activity than the observed activity of each antimicrobial composition, and the antimicrobial composition containing various antimicrobial compounds.
