<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flat panel display device which is resistant against falling. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The display device 100 includes: a display panel 10; a housing 12 where the display panel 10 is stored; a chassis 14 supporting the display panel 10; and a fitting metal 16 for fixing the chassis 14 and the housing 12. The chassis 14 includes: a rectangular panel supporting part 141 that supports the display panel 10 from the rear side; and an outer peripheral part 147 extending obliquely forward from the circumferential edge portion of the panel supporting part 141. The display device 100 also includes a structure 30 for suppressing the deformation of the panel support part 141 based on the allowance of a variation in relative positional relationship between the outer peripheral part 147 and the fixing metal 16.
