<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a propeller shaft and a method of mounting the propeller shaft on a vehicle capable of improving mounting workability on the vehicle. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A constant-velocity joint is provided at the front end of the propeller shaft. A plurality of bolt holes are circumferentially formed at the outer ring of the constant-velocity joint. A mounting bolt for mounting the constant-velocity joint on a companion flange is inserted into each bolt hole. A bolt insertion hole 65c into which the mounting bolt is inserted is formed in an end cover 65 mounted at the outer ring. A pair of engagement pieces 65d are provided in the inner periphery of the bolt insertion hole 65c. The engagement piece 65d is engaged with a screw thread of the mounting bolt inserted into the bolt insertion hole 65c, and preventing the mounting bolt from falling from the outer ring before the constant-velocity joint is mounted on the companion flange.
