<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire capable of attaining high uniformity by diagonally cutting a joint portion of a carcass ply to be overlapped. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In the pneumatic tire, a carcass 3 is formed by annularly winding the carcass ply formed into a rectangular shape along the tire peripheral direction and mutually overlapping and joining a peripheral-direction end 21 on one end side in the peripheral direction and a peripheral-direction end 22 on the other end side to each other at the joint portion 23. At the joint portion 23 of the carcass 3, a peripheral-direction edge 21a on the one end side and a peripheral-direction edge 22a on the other end side are inclined at substantially the same inclination angle θ to the tire width direction.
