<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the following problems: integrally bonding the materials having mutually different compositions by sintering without the use of an adhesive agent deforms the processed goods in the sintering step to require an extra machining for the predetermined dimension, lowering production yield, or causes cracks among the materials having the different compositions. <P>SOLUTION: A method of manufacturing an R-T-B (R: rare metal, B: boron, T: mainly Fe) system sintered magnet includes the steps of: preparing a first raw material alloy powder including relatively low concentration of heavy rare earth element R<SB>H</SB>or including no heavy rare earth element R<SB>H</SB>, and a second raw material alloy powder including relatively high concentration of heavy rare earth element R<SB>H</SB>; respectively filling the first raw material alloy powder and the second raw material alloy powder to the predetermined space of cavities formed by molds; obtaining a composite compact comprising a first compact part of the first raw material alloy powder and a second compact part of the second raw material alloy powder; and forming a sintered magnet with the first compact part and the second compact part combined by sintering the composite compact. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
