<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a 2-(2,4-dichlorobenzyl)-4-phenyl-5-alkylimidazole useful as an antioxidant for a copper surface, a curing agent for an epoxy resin or an intermediate of pharmaceuticals and agrochemicals. <P>SOLUTION: The compound represented by chemical formula (I) (wherein R is a 1C-6C alkyl group) is obtained by a reaction between an alkylphenylketone compound halogenated at the 2-position and (2,4-dichlorophenyl)acetamidine or a salt thereof. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
