<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive chucking mechanism which maintains high performance with small space, and which meets the current sever need of miniaturization, low height, high performance and low cost, while importance of a self-chucking mechanism which can hold a disk by a single motor is increased in a disk rotating motor. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The mechanism is constituted in such a manner that energizing force of a twisted coil spring 8 is always directed radially outward by locking one side of arm part 8b of the twisted coil spring 8 comprising a coil part 8, two arm parts 8b, 8c extended from both ends of this coil part 8a to a guide part 22 formed at the back center of a clamp claw 6, energizing the clamp claw 6 radially outward, thereby forming a locking part 20 of the arm part 8b into a curve shape.
