<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an articulated robot and a robot system capable of further downsizing. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The articulated robot incorporating motors 12 and 13 in an arm structure 6 includes a driven body 7 driven by the motors, brakes 14 and 15 formed separately from the motors 12 and 13 for regulating rotation of the motors via brake shafts, and a power transmission part 19 for coupling between output shafts of the motors 12 and 13 and the brake shafts 14A and 15A of the brakes 14 and 15 so that the power can be transmitted.
