PATH TRACE METHOD, AND NODE DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately monitor which optical signal reaches a relay node in a transparent network.

SOLUTION: At a transmission node, path trace information for determining which optical signal does not reach the transmission node is inserted into the overhead of a master signal and transmitted from a transponder for transmission of the transmission node via a wavelength selection switch for add to the relay node. At a wavelength selection switch for drop of the relay node, the overhead of the master signal, into which the path trace information is inserted, is acquired and at a transponder for monitor of the relay node, the path trace information is monitored to determine which optical signal has been passed.
