摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To carry out high-speed and high-accuracy image persistence correction. <P>SOLUTION: A light-receiving sensor 3 mounted on an EL panel 2 measures the emission luminance of a target pixel and outputs the luminance as an analog light reception signal. A variable amplifying unit 51 amplifies the light reception signal of the target pixel output from the light-receiving sensor 3 by a prescribed amplification rate. An A/D converting unit 52 converts the amplified light reception signal into a digital signal to output. A signal processing unit 53 computes a correction data for reduction in the luminance due to degradation with time on the basis of the digital data, corrects a video signal corresponding to the target pixel on the basis of the correction data, and supplies the corrected video signal to the target pixel of the EL panel 2. The variable amplifying unit 51 sets an amplification rate to be increased with the longer distance between the light-receiving sensor 3 and the target pixel in the EL panel 2.
