<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that reduces deteriorated toner in developer. <P>SOLUTION: A developing device includes a developing roll which is adjacent to an image holding body, includes a potential difference between the image holding body and the developing roll, and conveys the developer to a developing area facing the image holding body by rotating while holding the developer on its surface, the developing roll which includes a main developing part for conveying the developer to a main developing area facing other portion except a predetermined end on the image holding body in the developing area, and having a first potential difference between the image holding body and the main developing part, and a sub developing part for conveying the developer to a sub developing area facing the end in the developing area, and having a second potential difference, which is larger than the first potential difference, between the image holding body and the sub developing part. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
