METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING HARDCOAT FILM, HARDCOAT FILM, POLARIZING PLATE AND LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a hardcoat film, which can prevent the hardcoat film from curling on a side of a hardcoat layer of the hardcoat film while maintaining the hardness of the hardcoat film.

SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the hardcoat film includes forming the hardcoat layer on one side of a triacetyl cellulose base material, and thereafter applying at least a solvent on a surface side opposite to the side, wherein the hardcoat layer of the triacetyl cellulose base material is formed. The solvent is used for preventing the curl to the side of the hardcoat layer of the triacetyl cellulose base material and maintaining the hardness of the hardcoat film. The solvent includes one or more prime solvent selected from acetone, hexane, dimethyl glycol and methyl acetate in the proportion of 70 wt.% or more of the total amount of the solvent, wherein the application quantity of the solvent is 4-20 g/m2.
