<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology for ensuring convenience for a service person while ensuring constant security by providing a prescribed access restriction when implementing a prescribed mode for performing maintenance work of an image forming apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: A maintenance processing unit 60 of a multi function machine 50 accomplishes a conventional maintenance function and executes access authentication of a service person for maintenance. Therefore, the maintenance processing unit 60 includes an authentication processing section 61, an authentication data acquisition section 62 and a maintenance execution section 63.
